30. Replaces SAE 30 and 20W-50
Many cars manufactured in the fifties and sixties specified engine oil (usually the same as that recommended in the engine) for use in the gearbox. Whilst it was convenient to offer this recommendation, no doubt a proper gear oil would have been a better alternative. This gear oil has been designed for this type of recommendation. Application: Gearbox oil 30 can be used in vintage, veteran and classic gearboxes including those vehicles fitted with pre-selector gearboxes. Benefits: Do not contain friction modifiers so will not cause overdrives and preselector bands to slip. Do not contain EP additives so are compatible with synchro cones and other metal parts.
A 20W-60 oil, which replaces originally recommended SAE 30 and 20W-50.
