Oil Pressure Regulator Kit
with chromed knob - to adjust maxium oil pressure
This kit contains a new oil gallery plug with an adjustment knob and a washer that serves as a spring seat in the plug against the compression spring. This forms a clearance surface for the adjusting screw to set the engine oil pressure. Turning the knob in increases the pressure, turning it out reduces the pressure.
Only the total oil pressure can be adjusted with this kit. This should be between approx. 50 and 60 psi (3.4 and 4.1 bar) at speeds above 3000 rpm. A higher pressure will only lead to the oil heating up and a loss of power.
The idle oil pressure cannot be influenced with this kit. The pressure at idle is determined by the internal tolerances of the engine, the oil temperature and the oil quality and grade.
