Torsion bars are often available as solid or hollow bars, the difference between the two being solely in the weight. It is a misconception that hollow bars react faster than solid bars. There is no difference other than weight. In fact, the inner bar cross-section is sized to have the same spring rate as a solid bar. If you want to save weight, buy a hollow bar.
