Please note:
Earlier cars (approx 1955-1956) had a shoulder on the flywheel which prevents the starter from entering the ring gear. As the original bendix / drive entered from the gearbox side, it was used as a ‘stop’ to prevent the pinion going through the ring gear so far it struggled to disengage once the engine fired. Unfortunately, for these models we are currently unable to provide a new starter motor.
