This distribution valve operates in tandem with the master cylinder, located under the drivers footwell inside the 'rat trap'. The design was changed after chassis number 4083.
Please note, the brake distribution valves are designed to leak very slightly. There is an internal clearance of 0.0025mm (0.0001") between the operating valve and its bore and the leak-off provides for lubrication of the valve. This leakage is usually visible as a small droplet hanging from the valve base and is normal. If the leak is causing a noticeable drop in reservoir fluid levels then it will need replacing.
