4-bolt centre bearing cap made of steel for 1275 cc engines (not ‘Cooper S’). Supplied with high-strength bolts of the correct length.
On all high performance A-series engines it is essential to ensure the most accurate positioning of the crankshaft centre main bearing. Any flexibility, especially at sustained high engine speeds, can lead to bearing damage, crankshaft or main bearing cap breakage with severe or irreparable damage to the engine. This specially manufactured cap ensures optimum positioning of the centre bearing, which is essential for all engines with increased displacement.
Requires a line bore and two additional holes to be drilled and tapped into the block with 7/16" UNF threads. The thrust faces are partially machined to allow finishing while line boring is done.
