The heat of the engine oil is transfered to the water cooling-cycle using a special heat-exchanger which attaches to the filter-housing. Positive side effect: The faster increasing water temperature is used to heat the engine oil during the start-phase and the engine deterioration period is much shorter, wear is reduced. Car manufacturers use this method again to solve thermal problems in the new generations of diesel engines.
