The following must be observed when installing cylinder head gaskets.
Classic soft material gasket on metal layer: The metal side goes on top and the soft side on the bottom.
Classic copper head gasket on metal layer: The copper side goes on top and the metal side on the bottom.
The tightening torque specified by the vehicle manufacturer must be observed. The relevant information can be found in the workshop manual.
